Its basically a large hard drive with an Ethernet connector. Once the drive is connected to your network, you access its Web interface, go through some quick user setups and then start moving files to it. While NAS doesnt require modifications to your computer, it sacrifices speed, compared to a hard drive attached directly to your computer.
